| Norwegian citizen arrested for purchasing child pornography |

The Norwegian citizen R.S., aged 64, has been arrested for purchasing child pornography in Cambodia. The Police Unit for Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection, in collaboration with Protect, arrested R.S. at a hotel in the city of Siem Reap.
The head of the Anti-Trafficking Unit of the province said that the suspect had been investigated for several months after he was seen, on numerous occasions, with young men entering the hotel.
At the time of his arrest, the child who was with him said he performed sexual acts with the suspect in exchange for US$40. During the search conducted by the police of the room, sex toys, condoms and drugs, like ecstasy capsules, were found.
About a year ago, the Protect team already had indications of the suspect’s behavior, by observing the contact that he maintained with children on the streets of Phnom Penh. Police are working to gather more evidence from minors involved in the case.
In Oslo, R.S. had been convicted twice for child sexual abuse. |
